Is Lucky Lanes kid-friendly?

Yes! People of all ages enjoy our bowling lanes, from adults at corporate events to kids at birthday parties. If you have children at your event, we specialize in making bowling accessible for first-timers, kids, and even toddlers.

Our 6lb bowling balls and 24’ lane length -great for most kids and adults. We also offer a smaller 4lb ball for youngsters.

Where can I put the bowling alley?

Indoors or outdoors. Our clients have had us place bowling lanes on grass, pavement, backyards, side yards, a pool room, and even inside a brewery. Because our lanes our hand-adjustable to various surfaces, they don’t need to be on a perfectly flat surface to be level for bowling. We ask that you provide 28 feet by 7 feet of space to accommodate our 24’ lane.

We can help you choose the best location for your lane. Give us a call to talk about your vision and the space you have available. You can send us photos. For large events, we can visit your site in person to assess.

What do I need to do the day of the event?

Be available roughly 90 minutes before your event so we can set up the lanes. After that, you can relax, have fun, and bowl! Our founder and staff operate the bowling alley on-site for you, so you don’t need to do anything to keep the lane running during your event.

After your event is over, we’ll take down the equipment at a time we pre-set together.

How many people from your staff will come to the event?

The creator of Lucky Lanes, Alvin Petty, will lead the operation of the bowling lane for the duration of your party. We also bring attendants to reset bowling pins. We’ll discuss what’s needed when you contact us. All staffing is already included in pricing.

Do we need bowling shoes?

Nope! You can wear your own shoes. No special shoes are required because players don’t stand on the bowling lane itself.

How does the bowling ball return to the player after it’s bowled?

Our lanes have a wooden gravity feed track. One of our bowling attendants will place the ball on the track and it will return to the player.

What is the size of the lane?

Our lane is 24’ long, (total footprint requires 28’).

Is there a scoreboard?

Our bowling lane is hand-crafted, so we don’t come with the same electronic scoreboard you may be used to seeing in modern bowling alleys. Most of our clients don’t keep score. But if your guests are competitive, we can bring score cards!

Do you offer mobile bowling in the San Francisco Bay Area?

Yes. Lucky Lanes is a mobile bowling company based in San Anselmo, in Marin County, and we bring our handcrafted lanes to events across the San Francisco Bay Area. We regularly travel throughout Marin County, San Francisco, and the East Bay, including San Rafael, Fairfax, Larkspur, Corte Madera, Sausalito, Oakland, Berkeley, Richmond, and El Cerrito. Travel is included within 20 miles of zip code 94960, with a surcharge for locations beyond that radius.

How much does it cost to rent a mobile bowling alley?

Pricing depends on your location, venue, group size, and how long you’d like to bowl. Private parties and mid-sized gatherings start at $550. Can you bring bowling to a backyard birthday party?

Yes. Backyard birthday parties are one of our most popular bookings. We set up our retro lanes on grass, pavement, or a patio, and our staff runs the bowling for the whole party so you can enjoy your guests. Kids of all ages can play.

Do you provide entertainment for corporate events and team building?

Yes. Companies book Lucky Lanes for corporate parties, team-building days, and offsites that want a hands-on, memorable interactive activity. We’ve brought our lanes to organizations like OpenAI. Our team handles setup, on-site operation, and take-down, so the day runs smoothly for you.
